“Cynthia Ross’ Toronto-born all-female punk band The 'B' Girls were booking regular gigs at the legendary CBGB's in New York City, they wrapped up a North American tour with The Clash, and their songs were being produced by artists like Debbie Harry. But at the height of all this success, the band fell apart and the music they recorded for their debut album was never released. Now, 40 years later, they're back together touring and their debut album, “Bad Not Evil,” was released on Bomp records last year.”

Death Valley Girls

“Death Valley Girls is a Los Angeles-based garage rock/psych-pop/proto-metal troupe whose self-described "California doom boogie" and Manson Family/B-Movie theatrics invoke names like Link Wray, the Cramps, Bikini Kill, and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Formed in 2013 by drummer Patty Schemel (Hole), her six string-wielding brother Larry Schemel, vocalist Bonnie Bloomgarden, and bass player Rachel Orosco, the band released their debut album, Street Venom, on cassette via Burger Records in 2014. Patty left the group shortly thereafter and was replaced by Laura Kelsey (the Flytraps). In 2016, the band released their sophomore studio long-player, Glow in the Dark, again via Burger.”

Kamala and the Karnivores (featuring Michelle Gonzales of Spitboy)

“A philosophy major, a multi-million-dollar fundraiser, a college professor, and a mathematician, Kamala and the Karnivores are the kind of women who run the world, or who should, the kind of women who do things right. They don’t fake it, or half-ass things, or drink beer at band practice. They play angry pop punk love songs that will make you think twice about breaking anyone's heart. Kamala and the Karnivores were on Lookout Records, active in the 1980's as part of the Gilman Street scene and featured in "Turn It Around: Story of East Bay Punk.” They recently recorded a full length record to be released this year.

Lydia Lunch

“Lydia Lunch is passionate, confrontational and bold. Whether she’s attacking the patriarchy and its porno- graphic warmongering, turning the sexual into the political or whispering a love song to the brokenhearted, her fierce energy and rapid-fire delivery testify to her warrior nature. She has released too many musical projects to tally, been on tour for decades, published dozens of articles and half a dozen books, and simply refuses to shut up.”

Carla Bozulich

“Carla Bozulich is best known for her work in Ethel Meatplow, Geraldine Fibbers, Evangelista and Scarnella. Bozulich condones “clawing your way out from underneath the band-aid doll skin stretched over our eyes and mouths”.
